Colon cancer is a serious condition that affects the colon, the main part of your large intestine between your small intestine and your rectum. The inner lining of the colon sometimes develops polyps, which are small tumors.
A Colonoscopy lets your doctor examine the lining of your large intestine (colon) for abnormalities by inserting a thin flexible tube, as thick as your finger, into your anus and slowly advancing it into the rectum and colon.
Video Capsule Endoscopy (VCE) is a noninvasive technology designed primarily to provide diagnostic imaging of the small bowel. This new diagnostic marvel is available at Gastroenterology Associates of Western Colorado (GAWC).
Hemorrhoids, or piles, are irritated, swollen veins in the anal area. The swollen veins are a source of general discomfort and may cause symptoms such as pain, itching, bleeding, and burning sensation.
